The U.S. Treasury Secretary once engaged in "property fraud" behavior similar to that of Federal Reserve Board of Governors member Cook.

On September 17, foreign media reported that a mortgage document shows that U.S. Treasury Secretary Basent once agreed to designate two different houses as his "primary residence" at the same time, which is similar to the contradictory commitments that U.S. President Trump has been trying to use to impeach The Federal Reserve Board of Governors member Cook. The contradictory protocol made by Basent in 2007 allowed him to designate houses located in New York and Massachusetts as his primary residence at the same time. However, mortgage experts indicate that there is no evidence of any wrongdoing. On the contrary, his case suggests that inconsistencies in housing loan application documents do not necessarily constitute evidence of fraud. (Jin10)
