American International Group (AIG) reported a significant increase in its General Insurance segment’s underwriting income in Q1 2026, which nearly quadrupled to $774 million compared to the previous year. This growth was driven by reduced catastrophe losses, favorable prior year development, and strong performance across all subdivisions, including North America Commercial, International Commercial, and Global Personal. CEO Peter Zaffino, in his final quarterly report, highlighted impressive top-line growth and strategic transactions contributing to these results.
