Odaily News This afternoon, at the WebX 2025 conference held in Tokyo, Japan, Gate Group CEO Lin Han delivered a speech and stated that there are currently 700 million encryption users in the world, accounting for about 10% of the total population; in some regions, the penetration rate reaches 20%, such as in the UAE, Singapore, Turkey, and South Korea, while Japan is around 15%. Gate has obtained operating licenses in multiple locations and hopes to enter the Japanese market in compliance this year. The future industry trend is that the usage rate of DeFi will inevitably surpass that of CeFi, and recent token issuance and spot trading have played a significant role in this process. However, there are more security incidents related to DEX, and their preventive capabilities are not as strong as those of CEX, which should also be taken seriously.
