"I've been saying this for years. Memecoins and NFTs are digital waste with no intrinsic value."
He even compares them to the loot boxes of free mobile games.
Yakovenko's comment came during a debate on X with Base creator, Jesse Pollak.
However, Solana has greatly benefited from memecoins, particularly thanks to Pumpfun.
