Most people believe that children from poor families lose out due to a lack of resources, but that's not the main issue; rather, they lose due to a lack of mental resilience. Resources, background, and money are essentially meant to preserve opportunities for trial and error. The real reason why children from low-income families find it difficult to rise is that they simply cannot afford the losses that come with failure. After one failure, they have to admit defeat because they have no money to try again; they don't even have the chance to make another mistake. In contrast, children from wealthy families can afford to start over even after a failure, which is the biggest difference. However, even more fatal than these external conditions is the fact that children from poor families often lack the courage and confidence.
