El Salvador Splits Bitcoin into Dozens of Addresses to Anticipate Quantum Computing

The Bitcoin Office of El Salvador, in its post on social media X, stated that it transferred a number of Bitcoin from one address to several different addresses. This was done to anticipate the potential threat of quantum computing that may occur in the future.
"The reserves are being distributed to several addresses, each holding up to 500 BTC. Limiting funds at each address reduces exposure to quantum threats because unused Bitcoin addresses with hashed public keys remain protected," he wrote.
Nevertheless, the government representative ensured that the ownership of Bitcoin will remain open and accountable as usual. This strategy strengthens the integrity and long-term resilience of El Salvador's National Strategic Bitcoin Reserve against the continuously evolving technological threats.
