The American film industry (AS) is once again highlighting the creator of Bitcoin (BTC), Satoshi Nakamoto, by featuring his story in the film Killing Satoshi, which is scheduled to be released next year. According to IMDB, the film will star Pete Davidson and Casey Affleck as its main actors.
The film directed by Doug Liman will feature a plot full of political intrigue, technological espionage, and a struggle for global power. The script was written by Nick Schenk, who often collaborates with Clint Eastwood.
The producer describes this film as "David's struggle against Goliath" that raises big questions about money and who has the right to control it. He also mentions that its story is similar to The Social Network, but with a backdrop of the battle for the secrets behind Satoshi's identity.
Until now, Satoshi's identity as the creator of Bitcoin has never been revealed, although the digital coins he mined since 2010 are still stored and are now estimated to be worth nearly US$120 billion. This mystery makes him a legendary figure, as well as epic material for the big screen.
