In the actual operation of Web3 applications, the real bottleneck is often not transaction TPS, but how data is stored, how long it is stored, and how to ensure it is not lost. Core assets like NFT metadata, in-game asset information, and AI models, once they can only rely on centralized servers for hosting, significantly undermine the meaning of decentralization.

The Walrus protocol in the Sui ecosystem is attempting to solve this dilemma. Its core idea is to provide a truly usable data storage infrastructure for Web3 applications—using distributed nodes and coding techniques to ensure that even if some nodes fail, data can be fully recovered. Low cost, verifiable, and support for recovery—these are features that traditional centralized storage cannot achieve.

More interestingly, the close integration of Walrus with Sui smart contracts allows stored data to be directly called and managed by on-chain logic, truly becoming part of programmable assets. This means developers can interact directly with this data on-chain without having to switch back and forth between multiple systems.

In simple terms, Walrus gives Web3 applications the first truly usable data foundation.

Really, those projects before hyped up TPS loudly, but data storage has always been a joke. The Walrus approach indeed addresses the pain point.

Damn, someone finally pointed out this pain point clearly. Storage issues are indeed a thousand times more important than TPS; otherwise, NFT data could just disappear, who would dare to play?

Wow, finally someone has explained this clearly. Before, a bunch of people were hyping up TPS to the sky, but when the data was lost, everything was ruined. Isn't this just pseudo-decentralization?

Wow, finally someone explained storage clearly. Not all problems can be solved by just increasing TPS.

Finally, someone has pointed out this real pain point. Before, everyone was just talking about TPS, but data was lost and everything reset to zero.
