Today, the General Administration of Market Regulation (National Standards Committee) approved and released two recommended national standards: “Aging Society - Dementia-Inclusive Community Requirements and Guidelines Part 1: Residential Communities” and “Aging Society - Dementia-Inclusive Community Requirements and Guidelines Part 2: Residences.” The two standards provide systematic requirements for roads, buildings, landscapes, signs, supporting service facilities, and related services in residential communities, as well as overall layout, universal design, and functional spaces such as bedrooms, dining rooms, living rooms, and bathrooms in residences. They offer scientific solutions for creating a dementia-friendly environment at both the macro community level and the micro household level, helping to improve the sense of gain, happiness, and safety for people with dementia and their families.
