MicroStrategy pauses Bitcoin buys ahead of May 5 Q1 earnings 👀

Michael Saylor says no BTC purchases this week — timing isn’t random.

They’re sitting on 818,334 BTC (~$64.4B) at an average of $75.5K, still up ~4%, even after a rough quarter where BTC dropped 20%.

Q1 was still aggressive:
~89,600 BTC added for $5.5B (one of their biggest quarters ever)
But now:

Buying streak already broken

Pivoting away from common stock dilution
Leaning into preferred shares (11.5% dividend)
Wall Street expecting:
~$120M revenue + GAAP loss (mark-to-market hitting hard)

This May 5 earnings call is key.

Do they resume buying next week?
Or shift fully into a more disciplined, yield-focused strategy?

When MicroStrategy pauses, it usually means something bigger is coming
