Tom Lee predicts that the price of Bitcoin could reach 3 million USD in the long term.

Tom Lee – co-founder and head of research at Fundstrat Global Advisors – recently made a bold prediction that the price of Bitcoin could soar to 3 million USD in the long term, during an interview with CNBC's Squawk Box.

Lee noted that 95% of the Bitcoin supply has been mined, but currently only 5% of the world's population owns this leading cryptocurrency. "I believe that the imbalance between supply and demand is extremely large," he emphasized.

This veteran analyst believes that in the next 10 years, there will still be many potential investors entering the Bitcoin market.

According to Lee, in the long term, the network value of Bitcoin should be on par with gold. As Bitcoin Magazine previously reported, the analyst known as the "permabull" (who is always optimistic about this market) once predicted that Bitcoin will outperform gold by 2025, even though it is currently lagging behind this precious metal in the first quarter.

Level 250,000 USD this year?

Notably, Lee does not rule out the possibility that Bitcoin will reach 250,000 USD as early as 2025, thanks to the increasingly positive legal environment in the United States for digital assets.

According to coin price data from Bitcoin Magazine, Bitcoin is currently trading around the 106,000 USD mark, down about 2% over the past week after setting a new peak of 112,000 USD in May.

Last year, Lee accurately predicted that Bitcoin would surpass the 100,000 USD mark for the first time in 2024, and that became a reality in December when demand from institutional investors exploded.

However, Tom Lee's forecasts still need to be taken with caution, as he has also made some incorrect predictions about Bitcoin prices in the past.
