On September 2, according to financefeeds, Pete Davidson and Casey Affleck will star in "Killing Satoshi," a conspiracy thriller directed by Doug Liman, known for the "Bourne" series. The film is inspired by the mysterious story surrounding Bitcoin's anonymous founder and is expected to be released in 2026. According to the production team, the film will blend political intrigue, cutting-edge espionage, and global power struggles, depicting the competition among governments, Wall Street, and Silicon Valley for control of the world monetary system. Producer Ryan Kavanaugh described the project as a financial tech drama similar to "Social Web." "Killing Satoshi" will mark Liman's return to this genre following "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and "Edge of Tomorrow." The film is expected to start shooting in 2025. The project is being pitched at film markets in Toronto and Berlin, with industry insiders revealing its budget to be around $60-70 million.
