El Salvador's Minister of Economy: The government is still continuing to purchase Bitcoin.
According to Bloomberg, El Salvador’s Minister of Economy Maria Luisa Hayem confirmed in an interview at the Web Summit in Rio de Janeiro that despite reaching a $1.4 billion loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which requires a reduction in Bitcoin purchases, the El Salvador government is still continuing to buy Bitcoin. President Bukele has pledged to continue accumulating assets, and the Bitcoin project remains a government priority. The El Salvador Bitcoin Office stated that over the past 7 days, El Salvador has added 8 Bitcoin to its national Bitcoin strategy reserves, increasing its strategic reserves to 6154.18 BTC.
