Amid the significant surge in the crypto world and blockchain technology, notable projects emerge aiming to redefine the way digital systems communicate, among which we find Polkadot (DOT) and LayerAI (LAYER). Both projects offer innovative solutions addressing real problems faced by modern technology, but in completely different ways.
🌐 Firstly: What is the Polkadot project (DOT)?
🔸 The main idea:
Polkadot is a third-generation blockchain protocol launched by the Web3 Foundation, aiming to create a connected network of independent blockchains, known as Parachains, which can communicate with each other in a secure and seamless manner.
🎯 Goal:
Solve the fragmentation problem ( that current blockchains like Ethereum and Bitcoin suffer from, so that each network operates independently of the others. Polkadot offers what is known as interoperability between networks.
🧠 Rare information about DOT:
The founder of the project is Gavin Wood, who is one of the key co-founders of Ethereum and the inventor of the Solidity programming language.
Polkadot uses a unique consensus algorithm called Nominated Proof of Stake )NPoS(, which is an evolution of PoS and provides higher trust for participants.
The project allows the creation of customized blockchain currencies without the need for a "fork", through what is known as the Substrate Framework.
DOT is not only used as a currency; it has three functions: governance, staking ), and bonding ( to build new Parachains ).
