Why can't you always control your urge to watch the market?
Have you ever experienced this kind of situation: you clearly set a stop-loss, repeatedly tell yourself "don't look at it" eight hundred times, but end up opening the trading app on your phone again, scrolling through the candlestick charts in bed at night, almost as if you're addicted?
In plain terms, it boils down to these points. First, the amount you invested is too heavy - it might be half a month's salary or even the savings you've accumulated for a long time. If you lose it, your rent for next month is at risk. In such times, where is the sense of security? Especially for those playing with high leverage, the liquidation price is right in front of you, and if the market shakes a little, your heart can almost leap out, fearing that your account might go to zero in the next second.
Moreover, this market feels like a psychological battle. When it rises, you're afraid of a pullback; when it falls, you're scared of getting stuck deep. It's even more tormenting during fluctuations, making you anxious enough to pull your hair out. Staying up late to watch the market becomes the norm, and when you incur losses, it gets to your head, making you want to leverage more to recover, but the result is getting deeper into the hole. But think about it, when you're so tired your eyes are black, your mind has turned into a mess, how can your operations not go awry?
Wanting to quit this bad habit is simple yet not easy. Don't be too heavily invested; those who can go all in and still sleep soundly are extraordinary. Ordinary people can't handle this kind of stress; living is better than anything else. Find more things to do, take your wife and kids out for a walk, have barbecue and beer with friends; isn't that better than staring at the K-line and causing high blood pressure?
Remember, the crypto world is not your personal domain, and the market won't improve just because you're watching it closely. Relax a bit; money can always be earned, but if your mindset collapses, you'll truly have nothing left.
