Circle invests in acquiring Interop Labs. How will the Axelar ecosystem evolve?

Abstract generation in progress

【Crypto World】The team behind USDC, Circle, recently announced a major move—acquiring Interop Labs, the initial development team of the Axelar network. This deal is primarily aimed at accelerating the refinement of the Arc blockchain and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CTP).

However, there is an important detail: the Axelar network itself, the foundation, and the AXL token are not part of the acquisition scope. They will continue to operate independently under community governance. Long-term contributor Common Prefix will take over the development leadership. The deal is expected to be finalized in early 2026.

After the news was released, the market reacted quite noticeably. The AXL token price dropped nearly 13%, now around $0.11. Many community members are starting to ponder: what does this mean for AXL’s value proposition? This is a question worth paying attention to.

Wow, AXL drops directly by 13%? This is the true market reaction. Investors simply don't buy into the excuse of "independent operation"...

Hmm... Circle's move is a bit interesting. Creating a development team but leaving tokens behind—are they trying to let the community fend for itself?

The team was acquired, and AXL dropped by 13% directly, which shows a lack of confidence... Core developers leaving, leaving the community to handle it on their own, it feels a bit uncertain.

honestly the 13% dump says everything... core devs getting acquired usually means token holders are about to get the short end of the stick. not financial advice but statistically speaking, when the actual builders dip, retail bagholders tend to follow. reminds me of UST in May tbh

axl dropping 13% this time is overpanic, right? The development team being acquired doesn't mean the coin is gone... I really can't understand the logic of these retail investors.

Hmm... Circle's move is quite interesting, digging out the core team but leaving an empty shell for the community? AXL's 13% plunge this time is really an honest market reaction.

The core team was poached, and the token still dropped 13%. This is Web3's "independent operation" haha

I looked at this news, and Circle's move is quite interesting... They acquired the development team but didn't take AXL, it feels like they've just dug a core talent pool and walked away.

AXL dropped 13%, and I'm a bit confused—should I be bearish or bullish?

Wait a minute, the development team was poached by Circle, and now AXL has to rely on the community to save itself? That logic is a bit extreme.
