Cryptocurrency Scam Alert: 3 Million Scam Exposed, You Must Know These Tricks
【Blockchain Rhythm】 Recently, the Public Security Bureau of Yueqing City, Zhejiang Province, uncovered a virtual currency scam case with quite covert methods, which all crypto enthusiasts should be vigilant about.
The scam works like this: the fraudsters first induce victims to invest 3 million yuan to buy so-called virtual currencies. When they attempt to withdraw, they use the excuse that “the amount is too large and must be transacted offline,” prompting victims to hand over their money to an intermediary claiming to be an “acceptance merchant.” Even more ruthless, the scammers had pre-taught victims how to respond to police interrogations—this detail alone shows how sophisticated the entire scam is.
What is the truth? The entire virtual currency trading platform is fake; the accounts have no real assets in the system, so withdrawals are impossible.
But there’s good news: the 3 million yuan in cash has been successfully recovered, and two “runners” involved in the case have been subjected to criminal coercive measures. The case is still under further investigation.
This case reminds us of a few points: 1. Be cautious of platforms that ask you to transfer money under the guise of “offline transactions”; 2. Genuine trading platform accounts should be able to withdraw normally; 3. Any request for you to cooperate with “interrogation responses” is a red flag. Protecting your wallet is more important than anything else.
