Major development in crypto payments: According to Bloomberg, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the owner of the NYSE, is currently in talks to participate in a funding round for MoonPay. This signals growing institutional interest in crypto payment infrastructure and represents another milestone in mainstream finance's embrace of digital assets.

ICE enters MoonPay, TradFi is really starting to take it seriously.

tbh the "institutional acceptance" framing here is, let's say, somewhat optimistic. ice sniffing around moonpay tells us less about genuine stakeholder alignment and more about their need to hedge against path dependency concerns. the real question nobody's asking: what are the non-trivial externalities they're not mentioning?

ice jumping into moonpay? ngl that's the kind of institutional hashpower we've been waiting for since the early days. when the old guard finally tunes their difficulty adjustment toward crypto infrastructure, you know the network's matured beyond the garage miners. tbh reminds me of 2015 when nobody believed in this stuff—now they're literally bidding for seats at the table lol

ICE is really serious this time. If institutional investors didn't truly believe in this area, who would be doing something like MoonPay?
