Ahmed Moghal Takes Over as Baker Hughes CFO, Nancy Buese Transitions to Advisory Role
Baker Hughes Co. (BKR) has tapped Ahmed Moghal to serve as the company's chief financial officer, effective immediately. The leadership transition marks a strategic shift as Nancy Buese steps down from the CFO position, though she will remain connected to the organization in a new capacity until her departure on April 30, 2025.
The move represents a natural progression for Moghal, who has built considerable expertise within Baker Hughes over the past several years. Since 2023, he has led the Industrial and Energy Technology (IET) business as senior vice president and CFO, where he honed his financial acumen across the company's diverse operations. His track record spans senior finance and business roles across multiple divisions at the company.
With more than twenty years of professional experience, Moghal brings deep expertise spanning various industries and business environments globally. His career foundation was established at General Electric, where he participated in the Financial Management Program before progressing to the Corporate Audit Staff. When Baker Hughes merged with GE Oil & Gas in 2017, Moghal took on financial planning and analysis responsibilities, positioning him at the intersection of strategy and operational finance during a critical integration period.
Nancy Buese, whose tenure as CFO has concluded by mutual agreement, will transition into a strategic adviser role before concluding her employment with the company at the end of April 2025. This transition allows for continuity while enabling fresh leadership direction.
The company has maintained its previously issued financial guidance for the first quarter and full year of 2025, which was communicated during the earnings conference call held on January 31, 2025.
