Ethereum co-founder Vitalik recently expressed his views, pointing directly at the phenomenon of blockchain infrastructure becoming increasingly centralized over the past decade in pursuit of usability. He believes this trend must change by 2026.
Specifically, Ethereum's technical focus can be divided into three areas:
First is the validation layer. Through technological solutions like ZK-EVM and Helios, ordinary users can run nodes for validation again, bringing RPC back to its original purpose of being "verifiable and tamper-proof."
Second is balancing wallet security and user experience. Combining mechanisms such as social recovery, time locks, and privacy protections aims to find that sweet spot between security, ease of use, and decentralization.
Finally, is the transaction bundling process. The implementation of solutions like ERC-4337, native account abstraction, and FOCIL allows private transactions to resist censorship, ensuring power is no longer concentrated in the hands of a few validators.
From a market perspective, 2026 will be a window of explosive growth for the Ethereum ecosystem. Especially the MEME sector on the ETH chain, with its creative attributes and community-driven nature, may usher in a new wave of opportunities. History often repeats similar stories—just like DOGE and SHIB in the past.
