Recently, $DUSK 's price increase has indeed attracted a lot of attention. But behind this market movement, is it marketing hype or genuine technological support? I spent some time studying the latest technical documentation released by the project and want to share some findings.
**Finality of Settlement: The Critical Point in Blockchain Finance**
Many people think blockchain transfers are already very fast, but once you've experienced Ethereum's confirmation waiting during network congestion, you'll understand that sense of uncertainty. This is precisely the pain point for institutional-level applications.
DUSK's SBA consensus mechanism is expected to go live on the mainnet in 2026, with the core selling point being settlement finality. Traditional financial settlements usually require T+2 days or even longer, but this mechanism can reach an irreversible transaction state within 10 to 15 seconds.
The difference lies in certainty. In traditional scenarios, the moment when money changes hands and goods are delivered is when the transaction is truly settled. For institutions planning to migrate €300 million worth of assets, this second-level settlement certainty is exactly what they care about most.
**Why This Is Critical for the RWA Market**
The main obstacle to bringing actual assets on-chain is the financial institutions' demand for certainty. When clearing can be completed in just a few seconds, the risk management costs of on-chain transactions are significantly reduced, truly opening the door for institutional participation. Whether it's bonds, stocks, or other asset-backed securities, improvements in settlement efficiency mean changes in liquidity and cost structures.
This is not hype, but a technological direction that genuinely changes the game.
