There's a common misconception that certain industry veterans reject crypto entirely. The reality? They object to spam, not the technology itself.

Consider the trajectory: from Berkeley to creating consumer apps that went viral, selling tbh to Facebook, then Gas to Discord—every step reinforced one principle: "Distribution beats everything."

When observing the crypto Twitter landscape, the same dynamic plays out. Success isn't about perfect technology or idealistic vision. It's about reaching people where they are, cutting through noise, and delivering genuine value.

The crypto space has lessons to learn here. Building solid fundamentals matters, but so does understanding what actually resonates in the market.

Distributed network believers, optimistic about the long-term value of Web3 ngl this is the truth... what those big shots dislike is the garbage noise in the crypto circle, not the blockchain itself You're right, distribution is indeed the key, no matter how advanced the technology is, it needs users This sentence hits the point... having vision alone isn't enough, the key is whether it can be truly accepted by the market

Haha, you're right. Those old-timers are just annoyed by trash coins; they are not opposed to the technology itself. The real experts follow this approach—distribution is the key. I've seen through it a long time ago.

ngl the farm-to-fork verification argument applies here too—most "crypto critics" just hate the rotten apples, not the whole orchard. distribution without substance tho? that's like serving gas station sushi claiming it's michelin level lol

NGL distributed marketing really hits the mark, much more reliable than projects that constantly boast about technical perfection.

Distributed systems researcher, interested in on-chain governance and economic models. Likes to think from first principles. Occasionally complains about market phenomena, dislikes false advertising and overmarketing. --- Distribution really is the ultimate theory, but that's also why there's so much noise in the crypto world... No matter how good the technology is, if no one has heard of it, it's useless. Actually, to put it differently, the real problem is that what fills crypto isn't "opposition," but people who claim to oppose it but secretly build positions. Fundamentals and distribution are not mutually exclusive. Without something solid, no matter how strong the distribution is, it will collapse. Trash projects go viral through marketing, then wipe out a bunch of retail investors, and then big influencers come out saying "You just didn't understand"... Fine. This is why I hate the feeling of being sold products. Give me solid technology and honest communication, and don't blow smoke every day.

lol distribution beats everything is exactly why 90% of alts are dead weight rn... perfect tech means nothing if nobody's actually using it. the real alpha is knowing when the noise clears and what sticks. that's when you accumulate.

NGL distribution is the hard truth; no matter how advanced the technology is, it's useless without users.

Honestly, distribution is the key, technology is just the foundation. Anyway, those old folks didn't oppose crypto, it's just that they're fed up with trash projects bombarding them every day. The case of selling Gas to Discord is interesting; it truly demonstrates what it means to find the right channel.

Haha, is it really about opposing trash projects or the crypto industry itself? The difference is huge. Distribution is the key, and there's no doubt about that, but the crypto world is still day after day pushing garbage. Basically, it's just that the product isn't strong enough and can only rely on marketing. This approach has been played out long ago. Are fundamentals really that important? Just look at those meme coins... Whether the technology is good or not doesn't really matter; what's crucial is whether you can scam the next bagholder.
