GWW: The Whale Game Plays Out

No matter how irrational the moves look in the short term, the big players usually have the last laugh. While retail traders second-guess every bounce and dip, the whales who seem to be making delusional calls on social media often turn out to be right when the dust settles.

It's not about being smarter—it's about having deeper pockets and longer time horizons. They can absorb volatility that would liquidate most of us. Their "stupid" entries become prescient when market conditions shift, their controversial positions become the consensus six months later.

The irony? By the time the crowd realizes what the whales were doing, the real gains are already locked in. Their delusional-looking conviction eventually becomes the winning thesis.

Big players eat the meat while we drink the soup. There's no way around it, since we don't have deep enough pockets. --- Basically, it's a game of timing. When retail investors chase the highs and sell the lows, big players have already laid out their plans. --- Only realize it after six months? By then, they've already made a profit. --- That's why my positions can never keep up with the big shots' strategies... --- What seem like crazy moves are actually logical, it's just that I can't understand that logic. --- Capital crushes everything. If you don't have money, don't expect to win.

Basically, we retail investors can't understand the whales' game; they eat the meat while we drink the soup. --- That's why I keep getting cut; the madness of whales from half a year ago has now become the standard answer. --- Having more money allows you to do whatever you want; this is the true nature of crypto. --- Once I have deep pockets too, I can also play "crazy." --- So the problem isn't the strategy; it's that I don't have the capital to go bankrupt... --- Looking back after half a year, everyone who mocked the whales has shut up. --- I increasingly believe that this market is just a game of big fish eating small fish, nothing more. --- It's painful to see them talking nonsense and then really making crazy profits. --- The whales' "madness" is our blood and sweat money, plain and simple.

We retail investors are just tools for the whales to harvest, and we're gone. Watching their losing trades and laughing, only to turn around and make a killing three months later... this is the game. Having deep pockets is tough; you simply can't play. Really, by the time you realize it, they've already run away, and you're still struggling with stop-loss. Whale: I lose, I continue, I make a fortune... Retail investor: I lose, I'm done. It's all about the difference in capital size; you can't blame others.

Seeing through it, big investors just endure a few more years of hardship than us, and they have enough money to withstand declines. --- Another article promoting the theory that big investors are winners. It's not wrong, but it still sounds uncomfortable. --- So who should we believe now? Anyway, I'm afraid of getting cut again. --- The key is that we simply can't wait for those six months; our accounts can't hold up. --- Oh my, this is exactly why retail investors always lose money. They have deep pockets, and we have shallow ones. --- A typical "Monday morning quarterback." Anyone can see how they won after the fact. --- Basically, it's capital crushing small investors. Nothing new. --- Wait, are the crazy posts from big investors really just a lie? --- Deep pockets with long-term cycles. It sounds easy to do, but can we really stick to it? --- So our "rationality" is just "missing out" in their eyes.
