In early 2026, the blockchain industry ushered in a significant development—the DuskEVM mainnet officially launched in the second week of January. As a Layer 1 public chain focused on privacy protection and compliant finance, Dusk has been dedicated to technical accumulation since its establishment in 2018. The mainnet launch marks a new stage in its development.

This public chain features distinct characteristics: it can protect sensitive business data for institutions while meeting global regulatory framework requirements. Its core technical architecture includes modular design, built-in zero-knowledge proofs, and homomorphic encryption, enabling on-chain transactions to achieve the dual attributes of "privacy controllability and full auditability." For traditional financial participants such as banks, asset management firms, and exchanges, they can hide commercially sensitive information while opening audit permissions to regulators as needed—addressing one of the most critical concerns for traditional financial institutions entering the on-chain world.

The launch of the DuskEVM mainnet lowers the access barrier. Fully compatible with the EVM standard, developers can deploy applications directly using the common Solidity programming language. All contracts automatically run on Dusk's Layer 1, providing out-of-the-box privacy compliance capabilities. With the cooperation of the Hedger protocol, transactions within the EVM environment also support selective disclosure—users can flexibly control which data is public and which is hidden.

From compliant DeFi to the RWA (Real-World Asset on-chain) track, Dusk offers a new technical pathway. Compared to other solutions, it avoids the dilemma of "privacy overreach leading to regulatory difficulties" or "compliance compromising privacy features," instead finding a balance between the two.

Wow, this is what true "having both fish and bear's paw" means—privacy and compliance finally don't have to be mutually exclusive. Banks should have played like this long ago, been holding back for so long. Wait, can Dusk really sustain itself? Feels like just another PPT public chain. The whole zero-knowledge proof thing sounds impressive, but who knows how the on-chain experience actually feels. Plug and play? Ha, here we go again with that. RWA (Real-World Assets) is a promising direction, but it has to wait until real institutions dare to use it for it to count. Developing directly in Solidity is definitely more convenient. The key is still the ecosystem—being technically awesome is useless without applications. Controllable privacy, to put it simply, is about trying to please both sides. Will anyone end up satisfied in the end? After holding back for 8 years, if this wave fails, it will be really awkward. There's something there, but in the crypto world, wolves are many and meat is scarce. How much can Dusk actually get? The design of selective disclosure is interesting; finally, someone thought about user experience. Do regulatory authorities really have the ability to perform audits? I doubt it.

Dusk's approach indeed has some merit; privacy and compliance don't necessarily have to be at odds.

Wait, can privacy and compliance really be satisfied at the same time? That sounds a bit idealistic.

theoretically speaking, if we consider the recursive nature of zk-proofs embedded within evm compatibility... this is actually *chef's kiss* for bridging the institutional paradox. hedger protocol doing selective disclosure feels like the blockchain trilemma finally got a real answer, not just theoretical handwaving.

honestly the privacy-compliance balance they're pitching sounds good on paper but... where's the actual liquidity depth tho? evm compat is table stakes at this point ngl

Finally waited for this, can privacy and compliance be achieved at the same time? This time Dusk is not bragging. --- EVM compatibility is indeed powerful; it instantly lowers the barrier for developers. --- Basically, the idea is to let traditional finance feel secure going on-chain, and there's nothing wrong with that. --- Zero-knowledge proofs combined with homomorphic encryption sound impressive, but are they truly practical? Let’s wait and see. --- Privacy controllable + fully auditable? Isn’t this what everyone wants—both fish and bear’s paw? Now it’s actually happening. --- Another player in the RWA track, but how many will survive past this year? --- When it comes to mainnet launch, it depends on how the ecosystem follows up. Good technology alone is useless if no one uses it. --- Interesting, at last a public chain seriously considering traditional financial institutions. --- It’s already 2026, and we’re still talking about balancing compliance and privacy. Feels like it’s a bit late? --- Compatibility with EVM means direct deployment, and this level of convenience really hits the pain point.

Finally waiting, can privacy + compliance, these contradictory elements really be balanced... --- EVM compatibility is impressive, the developer threshold is indeed much lower --- Wait, whether selective disclosure is practical still depends on how it performs in actual use --- Banks should be happy, able to hide and still pass audits, this is what they truly want --- Built-in zero-knowledge proof, sounds powerful, but is it reliable? We need to see the audit results --- Another player in the RWA track, but isn't privacy and compliance really mutually exclusive... --- Getting privacy and compliance right out of the box? That sounds too good to be true, only empirical evidence counts --- Running Solidity directly? That definitely lowers the barrier, much better than those strange chains before --- Waiting since 2018, Dusk's patience... but now that the mainnet is launched, there's finally a story to tell
