Citing Cailian Press, this report highlights a case of traditional companies’ digital transformation efforts. According to the Qichacha business information inquiry system, Guizhou Moutai recently established a subsidiary called iMoutai Digital Technology Co., Ltd., marking its serious move into building a blockchain ecosystem.
Traditional Liquor Companies’ Entry into Blockchain
The newly established iMoutai Digital Technology was launched with a registered capital of 600 million yuan (approximately 90 billion won), fully funded by Guizhou Moutai. This is seen as a strategic move at the corporate level, beyond simple technological investment. The subsidiary focuses on developing blockchain-based software and services, and has a multi-layered business portfolio including industrial internet data services and internet live streaming technology services.
