Techub News Update. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries stated that they will not assist the Republican Party in passing the federal government funding bill through a fast-track process. US media pointed out that Jeffries' statement implies that the government shutdown could last longer than expected. The US Senate passed a funding bill for multiple federal departments for the remaining fiscal year on January 30, which will be sent to the House for review. However, the House is currently in recess and may vote on the funding bill as early as February 2. It is reported that funding for several federal departments, including the State Department and the Pentagon, was exhausted on January 30, leading to a partial government shutdown starting at midnight on January 31.
