Livermore said that speculation is not gambling; it is a duel with time. Most people treat speculation as a casino and the market as a gambling table, throwing money recklessly, but they forget that the essence of the market is the river of time. Gambling relies on luck, while speculation depends on patience. Gambling is an impulsive celebration; speculation is a calm practice.

True speculators treat the market as a chessboard and opportunities as chess pieces. They are not in a hurry to make moves but wait for their opponents to reveal flaws, for the situation to become clear, and for time to give the answer. Every move they make is the result of careful consideration. Each wait is a sign of respect for the market.
Taoism says: Wu Wei, Wu Bu Wei (non-action, yet nothing is left undone).
Like an old monk in meditation, while the outside world changes rapidly, he only breathes. Like an old farmer planting in spring, not asking about the autumn harvest, just focusing on tilling the land.
