How Illegal Immigration Secretly Shifts Congressional Power
14 million people who can’t legally vote are helping decide who controls Congress.
Here’s how.
Every ten years, the government counts every person in the country. Citizens. Non-citizens. Illegal immigrants. Everyone.
That count decides how many seats your state gets in Congress. How many electoral votes. How much power your voice carries.
You’d assume they only count the people who can actually vote.
They don’t.
14 million undocumented immigrants are in this country right now. Pew Research. August 2025. Record high. Every single one of them gets counted the same as you.
Now think about what that means.
You live in a district with 760,000 people. Most of them are citizens. Most of them vote. Your congressman represents you.
The district next door has 760,000 people too. But 300,000 of them can't vote. Can't legally be here. Doesn't matter. That district gets the same congressman. The same seat in Congress. The same electoral vote.
Your vote just got quieter. And nobody asked your permission.
It gets worse.
You're a voter in Ohio. You've shown up every election for 20 years. Your district just lost its seat in Congress. Not because people left. Because millions of people who can't cast a ballot inflated another state's count. Your representative is gone. Your seat went to a district where 50,000 voters pick a congressman. Yours needed 200,000.
Is that fair?
Those 14 million aren't spread evenly. They're concentrated. California. Texas. New York. Florida. Illinois. The states with the softest laws pull the most people. The cities that declare sanctuary status become magnets. And every single one of those people inflates the count.
How much does it matter?
20 out of 24 congressional districts where one in five adults can't vote went blue in 2022. Every one percent increase in non-citizens tracks with a 1.8 percent increase in Democratic vote share.
The studies say it shifts 2-3 seats between states. But those studies only measure the state-level math. They don't measure what happens when you redraw district lines inside those states. They don't account for concentration. For density. For which neighborhoods absorb the most.
My read? 4-6 seats. Elon thinks its 21+ seats. In a House decided by single digits, that's control. Its game over, GG.
Nobody has to cast a single illegal vote for any of this to work.
They don't need to vote. They don't need fake IDs.
They don't need to break a single election law.
They just need to be counted.
And you just need to be diluted.
You're not stuffing ballots. You're stuffing the census.
