Cara, the crypto market liquidation numbers today were way too heavy. According to CoinGlass, $826 million in positions were liquidated in the last 24 hours. What caught my attention was that short positions took the worst hit, with $661 million being forcibly closed, while longs had about $166 million.

BTC was the most affected with $375 million in liquidations, and ETH also took a big hit with $184 million. Just to give an idea of the intensity, CoinGlass recorded nearly 200,000 people liquidated during this period. The largest individual liquidation? A position of $15.75 million in BTC-USD on Hyperliquid that was liquidated all at once.

This kind of movement usually happens when there’s strong volatility and high leverage in the market. It’s worth keeping an eye on the upcoming movements.
