According to the announcement from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Office of the Working Mechanism for Foreign Investment Security Review has lawfully and regulatively made a decision to prohibit investment in the Manus acquisition project, requiring the parties involved to revoke the transaction. Previously, the artificial intelligence platform Manus was high-profile acquired by Meta for 2 billion USD. At the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Commerce of China focused its review on whether the transaction involved export control violations and whether the transfer of related employees and technology to Singapore required Chinese export licenses.
