Cloudflare Unveils NET Dollar Stablecoin to Power Instant Payments for AI Agents, Developers, and...

Cloudflare announced NET Dollar, a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin enabling instant payments designed to support AI agents, global developers, and Internet creators.

NET Dollar will enable AI agents to automate programmatic purchases, support supplier payments, and provide developers and creators reliable global transaction systems.

Cloudflare confirmed NET Dollar will drive Internet-native business models by monetizing applications, rewarding creative content, and supporting open standards like Agent Payments Protocol.

Cloudflare has announced plans for a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin called NET Dollar, designed to enable instant payments for AI agents, developers, and creators.

NET Dollar to Enable AI-Powered Transactions

Cloudflare, Inc. (NYSE: NET) confirmed that NET Dollar will serve as a digital payment system for the evolving AI-driven Internet. The stablecoin is constructed to enable safe, quick, and transparent transactions geographically and temporally.

The company noted that individuals are increasingly outsource-assigning digital work to AI entities such as reserving flights, purchasing products, and scheduling. To function effectively, these agents require financial systems capable of handling transactions instantly and reliably without friction.

“For decades, the business model of the Internet ran on ad platforms and bank transfers,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare. “The Internet’s next business model will be powered by pay-per-use, fractional payments, and microtransactions—tools that shift incentives toward original, creative content that actually adds value.”

A Global Network for Secure Transactions

NET Dollar will provide AI agents and businesses with tools to execute automated, real-time payments. For instance, personal agents could instantly purchase flights or order products, while business agents could trigger supplier payments once deliveries are confirmed.

By leveraging its global infrastructure, Cloudflare aims to modernize financial rails for Internet-native payments. The company explained that NET Dollar is designed to make payments not only instant but also transparent and trusted worldwide.

“By using our global network, we are going to help modernize the financial rails needed to move money at the speed of the Internet,” Prince added, highlighting Cloudflare’s commitment to building a more valuable digital economy.

Supporting a New Internet Economy

With NET Dollar, Cloudflare plans to unlock new business models for developers, creators, and AI companies. Developers will be able to monetize APIs and applications, while creators can be rewarded directly for unique content.

AI firms are also expected to contribute back to the ecosystem by compensating the content sources that train their models, ensuring a fair balance of value exchange.

Cloudflare also announced its participation in open standards, including the Agent Payments Protocol and x402, which aim to simplify the process of sending and receiving payments across the Internet. NET Dollar, the company stated, will form part of a payment ecosystem built for speed, trust, and innovation.
