January 2nd, according to on-chain data analyst Yu Jin’s monitoring, after ETH once again surpassed $3,000, a whale that borrowed 5,000 ETH one month ago to short sell decided to close its position. The whale just withdrew 4,830 ETH from CEX ( approximately worth 14.75 million USD ) to the blockchain for repayment. This short ETH trade earned about $390,000, borrowing and shorting ETH when it was $3,132 on December 5th, and today buying back ETH at a price of $3,054 for repayment.
