Abstract generation in progress

In the crypto assets ecosystem, Celsius (CEL) was one of the most influential crypto lending platforms. Since its launch in 2018, Celsius has provided a complete suite of financial services for digital asset holders, including stake earning, crypto asset collateral loans, and wallet payment functions. Despite facing operational turmoil later on, its native Token CEL remains active on multiple exchanges, attracting continuous follow from investors.

##Celsius Project Overview Celsius officially launched in June 2018, positioning itself as a "new banking platform" serving crypto users, primarily offering three core functions:

  1. Earn Rewards: Users can deposit crypto assets into the Celsius platform and receive interest income periodically, with the annual percentage yield (APY) fluctuating based on the coin type.
  2. Crypto Loans: Users can use mainstream coins such as BTC and ETH as collateral to quickly obtain USD stablecoin loans.
  3. Wallet Payment (Pay & Transfer): Provides functions similar to traditional financial wallets, enabling convenient transfers and payments between Crypto Assets.

In addition, Celsius proposes the core concept of "creating profits for users", attempting to replace the inefficient and profit-concentrated business model of traditional banks, and to provide crypto investors with more attractive returns and user experiences.

##CEL Token Features and Issuance Mechanism The native token of Celsius is CEL (Celsius Token), which is an ERC-20 standard token based on Ethereum and has various uses on the platform:

  • Users who choose to pay interest with CEL can receive higher returns;
  • Using CEL to repay loans can get discounts;
  • Users who hold CEL for a long time enjoy a membership level system, and the yield increase ratio also rises accordingly.

According to the white paper, the maximum supply of CEL is 695,658,161 coins, and the circulating amount in the market is approximately 37,720,111 coins, accounting for about 76% of the total. The remaining tokens are scheduled to be locked, including team rewards, partner allocations, and project reserves.

CEL conducted its ICO in May 2018, during the initial public offering process, 50% of the tokens were sold to the market, 27% were reserved for the project, 19% were allocated to team members, and 2% were given to partners and promotional incentives.

##Current Market Performance As of now, the real-time price of CEL is 0.075641 USD, with a 24-hour trading volume of approximately 264,864 USD. In the last 24 hours, CEL has slightly increased by 0.02%, with a current market capitalization of approximately 2,853,193 USD, ranking 1658th on CoinMarketCap.

Although the platform itself has gone through a suspension of services and restructuring phase, CEL remains actively traded on multiple decentralized exchanges (such as Uniswap) and centralized exchanges. Its price fluctuations are closely related to the restructuring progress of the Celsius project, legal rulings, debt repayment plans, and other factors.

##Challenges and Future Prospects of CEL Since Celsius announced the suspension of withdrawals and account freezes in mid-2022, the platform's reputation and user trust have been significantly impacted, triggering a chain reaction throughout the Crypto Assets lending industry. Subsequently, the company entered bankruptcy proceedings, and the market is filled with uncertainty regarding the prospects of the CEL Token.

However, according to the views of some community members, if Celsius successfully completes asset restructuring or re-launches in another form, the large amount of user data and financial models it possesses still hold certain value, and CEL may also gain functional empowerment in the restart plan.

At the same time, with the rise of decentralized lending platforms (such as Aave and Compound), centralized lending platforms are facing pressure for a "trust" transformation. The subsequent performance of CEL will depend more on the progress of the project team in legal, compliance, and restructuring aspects, as well as its ability to establish a more robust business model under the new regulatory framework.

##Investment Advice and Risk Warning For investors, CEL is considered a "high-risk Token" for the following reasons:

  • The project party is in the bankruptcy restructuring stage, and the asset disposal and subsequent direction are unclear;
  • The price of CEL is highly dependent on external events, such as court rulings and asset sales.
  • Market liquidity is low, volatility is high, and liquidity risk is easily encountered;
  • Non-technology driven projects rely on business reboot for long-term value.

Before participating in CEL investment or trading, it is recommended to thoroughly understand the project background, closely follow official announcements, and make decisions based on your own risk tolerance.
