The Ink of the Trade: My Candlestick Chart Tattoo Journey
Getting a tattoo representing candlestick charts wasn't just some random decision. For us traders who live and breathe the markets, these patterns aren't just graphics—they're visual stories of market battles that have made (and sometimes broken) us.
I couldn't resist immortalizing this passion on my skin. The artist looked at me weird when I showed him the pattern I wanted—a perfect bullish engulfing followed by a morning star. "What the hell is this?" he asked. I just smiled. Some things you can't explain to outsiders.
Honestly, I think these trading tattoos are getting more popular than most realize. Every time I'm at a trading conference, I spot at least a few people with price action permanently inked on their bodies. It's like a secret handshake that says "yeah, I've been through those 3 AM liquidations too."
My trading buddy Dave thinks it's ridiculous. "You'll regret that when you blow up your account next month," he jokes. But I disagree. Even on my worst trading days, the tattoo reminds me why I started this journey—the thrill of reading patterns that most people can't see.
The design itself took some tweaking. I wanted something clean but detailed enough that another trader would recognize it instantly. Red and green were non-negotiable, though the artist warned they might fade faster than other colors.
Would I recommend getting one? Look, it's definitely not for everyone. But for me, glancing down at my arm during a tough market day sometimes provides that little boost I need to stick to my strategy rather than panic selling.
But word of warning—be prepared to explain what those strange colored blocks mean to practically everyone who sees it!
