Analyst: Thailand's energy industry is facing a weaker structural cycle

On November 5th, Jinshi Data News, Yupapan Polpornprasert, an analyst at Thailand's Thaichang Securities, stated in a research report that the Thai energy industry is facing a more subdued structural cycle. The analyst mentioned that the competitiveness of the Thai energy industry in terms of scale and cost has been declining, which in the long run limits the potential for capacity expansion. The brokerage firm has downgraded the industry's weight from neutral to underweight. It gives the industry's preferred stock, Bangchak Petroleum, a 'buy' rating.
