How much does Elon Musk earn per second?
Wow, I have an unhealthy obsession with the ultra-wealthy. I can't help it. I'm fascinated by that unattainable world where people like Elon Musk earn in the blink of an eye what I won't see even in five lifetimes combined. It's almost pornographic to think about it.
While I'm here struggling to make ends meet, this guy rakes in between 6,900 and 10,000 dollars PER SECOND. Yes, you read that right. Every damn second. While you were reading this sentence, the bastard already earned more than your monthly rent. And the worst part is that he doesn't even work to earn it like we do, the mortals.
I kill myself working 8 hours for a mediocre salary, but Musk can be sleeping, scratching his balls, or tweeting nonsense, and his fortune keeps multiplying automatically. Is it fair? Obviously not, but that's how this rotten system works.
The curious thing is that he doesn't even take a normal salary. He boasted years ago about rejecting his salary at Tesla. How generous! Of course, because he doesn't need it. His cash comes from owning half the world: Tesla, SpaceX, xAI... When the stocks go up, he makes a fortune. It's that simple.
Let's do the math: if your fortune increases by 600 million a day ( perfectly possible in good weeks ):
And this is not even its peak! It has reached to pocket 13,000 bucks per second. Can you imagine? I can't, my brain explodes.
His wealth didn't fall from the sky. It started with Zip2, continued with PayPal, then Tesla ( where he wasn't a founder, by the way, although he loves for you to think so ), SpaceX and a thousand other businesses. He always reinvested everything. Okay, he has guts, I won't take that away from him.
He claims to live in a prefab house near SpaceX. Ha, how humble. That he doesn't have yachts or throw parties. Of course, because he is "reinvesting" in his projects like colonizing Mars. Philanthropy? More like excessive ego.
He has signed that "Giving Pledge" where the mega-rich promise to give away their fortune. But with 220 billion in wealth, his donations are pocket change. Meanwhile, he continues to accumulate wealth at an obscene rate.
Should anyone be THAT rich? I have a clear opinion on this. It is a symptom of a sick capitalism where inequality is more extreme than ever. Some see it as visionary; I see a broken system where one earns in a second what others won't see in months.
So there you have it: $6,900-13,000 per second. A madness that we will continue to admire, hate, or simply not understand from our normal world.
