The best apps to mine Bitcoin from your mobile or desktop
Hello fellow miners! I have been in the world of cryptocurrencies for years and I must confess that Bitcoin mining is still a fascinating world, although it is becoming increasingly competitive. Today I want to share my experience with the best applications for mining BTC, because let's be honest, we all want our share of the crypto pie.
Bitcoin mining is basically a race to see who solves complicated cryptographic problems first. The winner takes home BTC and fees as a reward. This process will continue until the famous 21 million bitcoins in circulation are reached, at which point the reward party will end.
My experience with mining apps
Mining applications have democratized this process. You no longer need to be a computer genius or have an expensive rig to participate. However, be careful, I won't deceive you: the returns are not what they were years ago.
There are several ways to mine with these applications:
The best applications of 2024
1. CGMiner
This veteran from 2011 not only allows mining Bitcoin but also Dogecoin and Litecoin. It operates through command line, making it complex for beginners. However, its flexibility and compatibility with various hardware make it a favorite among experienced miners.
I use it mostly with Windows, but it also works on Linux and MacOS. I love that it allows remote control to adjust settings like fan speed when my computer starts to get too hot.
2. Kryptex Miner
Since 2016, Kryptex has focused on simplification. Anyone with a Windows 7 or higher PC and a decent graphics card can use it. The best part is that it pays you for your computing power and runs in the background. Its "Lite mode" allows me to play or watch movies while mining, although the profits are modest (around $95 monthly with a standard gaming PC).
They charge a fee for payments and have a minimum of 0.00025 BTC for withdrawals, which seems a bit restrictive to me.
3. ECHOES
This Armenian cloud-based platform seems perfect for beginners. You don’t need your own hardware, you just pay for a mining contract. You choose a BTC price prediction, contract duration, and total hash power based on how much you want to spend.
The yields are lower compared to using your own equipment, but the convenience is worth it for many.
4. EasyMiner
As its name suggests, it greatly facilitates mining. Its focus on security gives me peace of mind, keeping my mining activities private. It is less powerful than other options, but its graphical interface and simplicity make it ideal for beginners.
5. Awesome Miner
I love this program for managing different mining hardware! It allows tracking operations remotely and handling multiple devices from a single platform. Its control panel shows fan speeds, hash rates, earnings, and device temperature.
The free version is fine to start with, but the advanced features cost from $2 mensuales.
6. Cloud mining applications of large exchanges
Large exchanges offer pretty good cloud mining services. With just $23 puedes buy 1 TH/s and start mining for 90 days. You only need an account on the platform and sufficient funds.
Transparency is good, they show you estimates of potential profits before you start.
7. HashShiny
Launched in 2017, this program runs on wind and hydro energy, which I think is great for the environment. It allows mining of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, and Dogecoin.
Their costs vary depending on the cryptocurrency, with a daily maintenance fee of $0.0004 for BTC and $0.40 per 10 GH/s. Since it uses renewable energy, the rates are relatively low.
Why it is worth using these apps
My final tip
Mining is no longer what it was in 2017, I say this from experience. The returns are lower and the competition is fierce. Before choosing an application, consider:
Bitcoin mining requires powerful equipment and a lot of energy, but these programs make the process more accessible. Each app has its advantages and disadvantages, so choose the one that best suits your needs and level of experience.
Good luck with mining and may the satoshis be with you!
