Internal chaos! A 23-year-old recent graduate takes the helm of a certain exchange's marketing department, triggering a wave of employee resignations.
A certain exchange has recently been in internal turmoil, and I witnessed this absurd drama firsthand. According to anonymous tips, the executives of this exchange are adjusting the organizational structure every week, it's just like playing Tetris! I really don't know what they are thinking, what good results can come from such constant changes?
The most outrageous thing is that the COO actually appointed a fresh graduate who is only 23 years old as the CMO! Can you believe it? The entire marketing department now has to report to this young person who has just entered the workforce. Can those experienced senior directors and managers (P7, P6 levels) not be angry? Almost every week, someone at the Dubai headquarters is handing in their resignation letter, and the atmosphere is tense!
I checked LinkedIn and indeed there is such a young employee who has been with the company for only five months and has been promoted from business manager to head of recruitment and marketing. This kind of promotion speed, isn't it just getting in through the back door? It really makes someone like me who has been working for many years feel so disheartened!
The situation in the technical department is even worse. The CEO has actually appointed herself as the CTO, sidelining the original partner CTO. The most ironic part is that this CEO knows nothing about technology but loves to meddle in the technical direction. The technical team is complaining: "She doesn't understand technology at all but always issues various unreasonable directives." No wonder the technical progress has stagnated, and the leaders of the technical department are becoming increasingly conservative, unwilling to take on responsibilities.
From operations, products to technology, the entire company's morale is low, and employees are looking for job-hopping opportunities. I guess this is what they call "corporate culture"? Ha!
As of the time of writing, the exchange has not made any public response or clarification regarding these anonymous disclosures. However, market observers believe that if the rumors are true, it will further damage the exchange's brand image and internal stability.
To be honest, would I put my assets on an exchange with such chaotic internal management? Don't even think about it! Everyone should be cautious.
