The crypto world is talking nonsense again! Did Buffett invest in Crypto Assets? Is it true or not? 🔍

Abstract generation in progress

The crypto world has been buzzing again lately. Some say that the "Oracle of Omaha" Warren Buffett suddenly changed his tune and invested 700 million dollars in a bank called New Bank, claiming that this bank supports Bitcoin trading. The encryption community instantly erupted! Didn't the Oracle of Omaha call Bitcoin "rat poison"? If he really changed his mind, that would be quite sensational. 🚀

I checked, and there are too many loopholes in this news.🧐

Can’t tell the difference? Major mix-up with bank identities

New Bank and encryption currencies and Buffett? They have nothing to do with each other. Just look at the official website, this is a small community bank opened by a Korean American in 2006, mainly doing its original business of lending to local small businesses. What does it have to do with encryption currencies? Not a penny of relation.

It seems that some people are confusing New Bank and Nu Bank. Nu Bank is the fintech company from Latin America, with the stock code NU, and there is indeed a cryptocurrency platform called Nucripto. Buffett has indeed invested in it. It seems that some people got excited after only seeing half of the information. 🌎

Digging up old news from three years ago as new material

In fact? Buffett's company invested $500 million in Nu Bank in June 2021. By the end of the same year, after Nu went public, Berkshire held $1 billion worth of Nu Bank shares. This was all in 2021! 💰

The timeline is crucial. Buffett invested in 2021, and Nu Bank only launched its encryption platform in 2022. When Buffett invested, Nu hadn't even touched cryptocurrency yet!

It's already September 2025. The crypto world is still炒ing this kind of cold rice and even got the bank's name wrong. It's a bit ridiculous. 🤦‍♂️

The Stock God Remains Unchanged in His Original Intention

Take a look at the Q2 financial report for 2025. In Buffett's investment portfolio, there is not a single direct investment in any cryptocurrency. He invested in Nu Bank purely because he recognized its value:

Nu Bank was founded by venture capitalist David Velez and has experienced explosive growth in underdeveloped financial service areas in Latin America over the past ten years. In Brazil, there are 87.8 million users, which seems to be half of the local adult population, making it the fourth largest bank in Brazil.

The latest financial report shows that Nu Bank mainly earns money from credit cards, insurance, and traditional investment accounts. Cryptocurrency trading? It's just a small piece among many businesses.

It's 2025, and Buffett is still the same Buffett. He focuses on companies with intrinsic value and stays away from speculative assets. Even though Nu Bank has encryption business, what Buffett values is its overall banking value and growth potential, not just that bit of encryption business. 🔥

The crypto world has proven again this time: rumors cannot withstand scrutiny. When information is chaotic, one must return to the facts.
