Error establishing a connection with Redis

socket error on read socket

Damn it! WordPress can't connect to Redis, this problem again... I've been trying all morning and nothing. I'm sure the data in the wp-config.php file is misconfigured or the Redis server is down (as always).

I've tried a thousand times and I still don't understand why it doesn't work. Is it that my host and port are incorrect? Or is the Redis server just taking a break when I need it most?

This configuration is a real headache. The worst part is that now I'll have to go through all the documentation again, as if I didn't already have enough pending work.

For those who are as frustrated as I am, you can check the instructions on GitHub, although I honestly doubt they will help much when the problem seems to be on the server.

If you're fed up like I am, just delete the object-cache.php file from the /wp-content/ directory and forget about Redis. Sometimes the "modern" solutions just complicate things that used to work perfectly.
