Demo trading: The illusion of a newbie

Wow, is this the first time trading without losing real money? What an interesting illusion!

I wasted hundreds of dollars on silly "all-ins" before I came to know about this so-called demo account. You could say that if you want to experience the thrill of riding a roller coaster without passing out, then demo trading is the solution.

A demo account is essentially a safe "sandbox" for you to play around and learn how to not lose money. You can freely destroy without worrying about having to sell a kidney to pay off debts.

Large exchanges all offer this feature, whether they call it Testnet or Paper Trading or something else. Notably, they prioritize futures trading - where you are most likely to lose money. Quite clever, isn't it? They want you to practice being poor before actually becoming poor.

To use the demo account, you need:

1. Log in to the Testnet with your main account
2. Take a small quiz ( because obviously they don't want users to be too ignorant about crypto)
3. Receive 3,000 virtual USDT to start your trading "career"

Actually, I find it a bit unreasonable that they only provide a demo for futures contracts and not for spot trading. It's as if they're saying: "Hey, learn how to tightrope walk on a cliff before you learn to walk!"

The funny thing that brings tears to your eyes is when you earn thousands of dollars in your demo account, watching the balance swell, only to realize: Oh, I can't withdraw it! And when you switch to the real account, you're still a flat zero.

Anyway, it's best to practice on a demo before diving into the real market - where the "sharks" are waiting to devour "little fish" like us.

Knowing what you are doing before losing real money will at least help you lose more gracefully!
