Acquire ICO coins (ICO)

This guide explains how to obtain ICO coins using the Web3 wallet from Gate.

Gate's Web3 wallet allows you to access decentralized exchange platforms (DEX) and securely trade thousands of coins. Since the ICO coin is not available on Gate's centralized exchange platform (CEX), you will need to use the Web3 wallet and a decentralized exchange platform to acquire it.

Creating a free Gate account

To get started, sign up on Gate

• Download the Gate app and sign up.
• Or register on the website using your email address and your mobile phone number.
• Complete your identity verification (KYC) to access all features.

Setting up your Gate Web3 wallet

The Web3 wallet is integrated into the Gate app. Here’s how to set it up:

• Launch the Gate app and navigate to Wallet > Web3 wallet.
• Press Create a wallet. Follow our detailed guide for more information.
• Carefully note down your recovery phrase and keep it secure. (It is the only way to restore your Web3 wallet in case of loss of access).
• If you already have a wallet, you have the option to import it.

Your wallet is now operational, but you need to fund it before you can acquire ICO coins (ICO).

Purchase of stablecoins as base currency

For better compatibility with cryptocurrencies, consider first purchasing stablecoins. Stablecoins such as USDT and USDC are cryptocurrencies designed to maintain a stable value and are compatible with most cryptocurrency exchanges.

• In your Gate Web3 wallet, tap on Receive.
• You can choose to transfer your stablecoins from the Gate exchange platform, the wallet address, or a bank card.
• Once the transfer is completed, your USDT will appear in your Web3 wallet under Assets.

Exchange your USDT for ICO

• Open the Web3 wallet Gate in the app.
• Access the Trader tab.
• In the From section, select your USDT.
• In the To section, choose ICO.
• Indicate the amount you wish to purchase, then press Approve and Exchange.

The exchange will be completed, and your ICOs will appear in your Web3 wallet.

Conservation or use of your ICO in the Gate wallet

Now that you have acquired your coins, you can simply store them in your Gate wallet. You also have the option to exchange them for other coins or place them on Simple Yield in the Earn section for ( Gate wallet) to generate passive income.
