My funds got stuck during crypto trading. How can I resolve this?

My money disappeared out of nowhere! I was doing that normal transaction in crypto when BAM! - everything froze. I can't withdraw anything. I'm desperate because it's a considerable amount and now it feels like I've fallen into an endless bureaucratic trap. Let's talk about this damn "frozen card wave" that's affecting everyone in the crypto world.

Why the hell are withdrawals frozen?

1. The real reason behind the freezing

There are three types of locks: administrative, civil, and criminal - but let's be honest, it's almost always the police meddling in our accounts. The Criminal Procedure Law in article 144 says they can "investigate and freeze" whatever they want if they suspect a crime. Convenient for them, right?

Some investors also have problems because the banks' automatic system goes into a panic when it sees "suspicious" crypto transactions. It is ridiculous how there is no clear limit to this freezing. The police practically do whatever they want, claiming "crime fighting" as a universal excuse.

If you are a P2P trader, you may be accused of fraud or illegal gambling; if you only buy and sell normally, you may be blocked for receiving "dirty money"; and if you are just an ordinary buyer, your account may be frozen because the seller has issues. Even worse: with this obsession to chase telecom fraud, the police freeze all connected accounts without even investigating properly.

2. Your rights when your account is blocked

(1) Right to be informed

At least you have the right to know what happened after your money was seized. This is in the law - authorities MUST inform you when you ask.

(2) Right to complain and sue

Article 191 states that you can complain if assets unrelated to the alleged crime have been blocked or if they continue to be blocked when they should have already been released. It also states that they can only freeze the amount involved in the case, not all of your money. But try to enforce this right in practice...

How can I recover my money?

(1) Notify everyone immediately

If your account has been blocked, inform family and friends not to send money there anymore. There are two scenarios: either you cannot receive or pay, or you can receive but not pay.

(2) Press the bank

Call the bank and find out the reason for the block. If you can't do it by phone, go to the bank in person and request the freezing record - write down everything: reason, time, location, and contact information of the responsible authority.

(3) Confront the authority that blocked

Contact those who froze your account and clarify that you have nothing to do with illegal activities. Many people are afraid to speak with the police, but it is necessary to be proactive.

(4) Gather evidence to defend oneself

Gather bank statements from the last six months, transfer records, proof of income, and anything that proves your money has a legitimate source.

(5) Appeal if they continue to ignore you

If the authority refuses to unlock your account without reason, complain to their complaints department or to the prosecutor's office. If the bank does not provide information, complain to the headquarters or to the banking regulator.

In the end, this model of pursuing cryptos only creates more problems for ordinary users. Try your best to operate within the rules, even if they seem unfair and arbitrary. But honestly? I'm already tired of seeing so many cases like this.
