I’ll be talking about “Attestation” today, and what it does in the zkPass ecosystem.
When you hear “attestation” in relation to zkPass, think of it as a trusted confirmation process.
It’s how the system checks that a piece of information is legit, without exposing the actual data.
In zkPass, attestation is important to the whole process. Before any proof is created, the network needs to be sure the data you’re using is real. So it verifies three key things:
▪️ The source is authentic
▪️ The content wasn’t tampered with
▪️ The sender is who they say they are
Once these checks pass, zkPass can generate a zero-knowledge proof.
