In Mexico, the national security situation faces a severe test once again. On Monday, reports indicated that 25 members of the National Guard were killed in a series of violent incidents in Jalisco. These attacks occurred independently but happened within hours of each other.

This shocking event marks a major turning point: the notorious drug cartel leader Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes (nickname "El Mencho") was killed in an official Mexican special operation. He had long been the leader of the most influential criminal organization in the region.

Reports say that shortly after the leader's death, the group launched retaliatory actions that caused significant casualties among the National Guard. The incident was reported by international news agencies, highlighting the ongoing challenges Mexico faces in combating organized crime.
