Apple officially announces the opening of its second store in Mumbai, India, tomorrow.
Tech Home, February 25 — Apple has announced a new store in Borivali, Mumbai, called Apple Borivali. This is Apple’s sixth retail store in India and the second in Mumbai, opening on February 26 at 1 p.m. local time.
Apple Borivali is located in the Sky City shopping center in Borivali East. The complex is situated next to the Western Express Highway and near Devipada Metro Station, serving as a new large-scale commercial and entertainment hub in the area.
Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and People, said, “We’re excited to open a new store in Borivali, bringing Apple’s products and experiences to more Indian consumers. The creativity and enthusiasm of communities across India are inspiring, and our team looks forward to building closer connections with customers at this new Mumbai location.”
The new store will have over 70 employees providing product consultations and technical support, as well as services like Apple Trade In, installment plans, data migration, and Personal Setup. Like all Apple stores worldwide, it operates on 100% renewable energy to achieve carbon neutrality.
To celebrate the opening, Apple has launched an exclusive Apple Music playlist and released commemorative wallpapers for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Apple Borivali is part of Apple’s ongoing expansion of its retail network in India. In 2023, Apple opened its first stores in Mumbai BKC and Delhi Saket, followed by locations in Bangalore Hebbal and Pune Koregaon Park, with plans to open a new store in Noida in 2025.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has repeatedly emphasized the importance of the Indian market. As the second-largest smartphone market in the world, India is highly significant for Apple. Since 2020, Apple has operated an official online store in India, allowing consumers to purchase products directly from Apple without going through authorized resellers.
