Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 12 — According to Securities Times reports, recently, the download and usage of OpenClaw (“Lobster”) applications have been very popular. In response, Renmin Caixun learned from the Hong Kong Digital Policy Office, which is responsible for AI policy, that the office has been continuously monitoring the latest developments in artificial intelligence. Recently, they have also been paying attention to potential risks associated with OpenClaw, including excessive permissions, data leaks, and system security issues. It is recommended that relevant organizations and individual users take sufficient security measures when deploying and using OpenClaw, including: strengthening network controls, implementing strict isolation of the operating environment to reduce the risk of excessive permissions; enhancing credential management to avoid storing keys in plaintext within environment variables; strictly managing plugin sources to ensure their trustworthiness and security; continuously monitoring official patches and security updates, and promptly updating versions and installing security patches.

It is understood that the Hong Kong government places great importance on governance and risk prevention in AI applications, having formulated documents such as the “Artificial Intelligence Ethical Framework” and the “Hong Kong Generative AI Technology and Application Guidelines.” Additionally, the government has established a comprehensive “Government Information Technology Security Policy and Guidelines” for departments to follow and implement. Before installing various software, departments must conduct risk assessments.
