Apple (NYSE: AAPL) will launch a foldable iPhone this fall. The upcoming foldable iPhone is expected to include updates to the iOS operating system, with support for a split-screen interface similar to iPad layouts and applications, enhancing multi-tasking capabilities.

Additionally, it is rumored that Apple’s foldable iPhone will feature an internal foldable display roughly the size of an iPad mini, while the outer screen will be similar in size to a small iPhone.

The internal display will adopt a widescreen aspect ratio, differing from the narrow screens of current foldable phones on the market. Insiders say this will be a key selling point.

Sources indicate that the design aims to make the device more suitable for watching videos. Developers will also find it easier to redesign iPhone apps to resemble iPad software.

Apple’s foldable iPhone will arrive seven years after Samsung’s first foldable phone, its main competitor.
