How Many People Will You "Meet" in a Lifetime?

This breaks down into three levels:

1. People you pass by, people you see once

Approximately: 80,000 people throughout life
Including: strangers, people on the subway, in malls, while traveling, at school, fleeting glimpses at work.
You've seen them, but you don't know each other and have no interaction.

2. People you truly know and can call by name

Approximately: 3,000-4,000 people throughout life
Classmates, coworkers, neighbors, friends of friends, relatives, etc.
Most are just acquaintances, not close.

3. People you can call "acquaintances" or "friends"

Approximately: 200-300 people throughout life
People you chat with, contact when needed, and have some connection with.

4. People who are truly close and important

Approximately: 10-20 people throughout life
Family, close friends, romantic partners, people you can truly confide in.
These are the people who determine the warmth of your life.
