Why does AI Iran prioritize using missiles from ten years ago?

Reference News Network, March 16 According to Iran’s state television website on March 16, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that most of the missiles launched during “Operation True Commitment 4” targeting U.S. and Israeli targets were produced about ten years ago. As the war imposed on Iran enters its third week, more advanced weapons are kept in reserve.

The report said that IRGC spokesperson Ali Muhammad Naini told the Iran Islamic Republic Broadcasting News Agency that since the start of the war on February 28, approximately 700 missiles and 3,600 drones have been launched at U.S. and Zionist targets.

Naini emphasized, “The missiles currently in use are ten years old. From the 12-day war to this Ramadan war, many of the missiles we produced have not yet been deployed.”

The spokesperson pointed out that since the last war, Iran’s offensive capabilities have significantly increased, and the full extent of Iran’s military modernization remains unseen by opponents.

In a warning to Washington, Naini claimed that the U.S. Navy lacks the courage to approach the Persian Gulf, and the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iran’s absolute control. (Translation by Wang Qun)
